Meet Josh Jensen. Josh is a freshman studying Industrial Engineering at the U of A from Austin, Texas. In addition to serving as a Parent Ambassador, he is also a R.O.C.K. Camp Mentor and a member of the Beta Upsilon Chi fraternity here on campus. Even though the University of Arkansas is 8 hours away from home, he can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Going to a college football game is something that every student should experience especially at the University of Arkansas. Our student section is always full of wild, screaming, hollering, and chanting fans and if your student isn’t a part of this amazing tradition then they are missing out on their college experience.
This year’s home schedule for this season of Razorback football is already the best one yet! With teams such Alabama, Ole Miss, Florida, and Louisiana State University (or what all the real Razorback fans refer to as “LSWho?”) coming to our stadium, your student has multiple chances to see why everyone on campus is so pumped for Razorback football. Your student can even travel to the away games and go behind enemy lines to watch the Razorbacks wreck our opponents.
I asked a few students what THEY believe is the best reasons for your student to attend the Razorback football games and I received responses like:
“Going to football games boosts school spirit…. and going to different organizations’ tailgates to call the hogs and cook hotdogs with fellow students and fans is always a blast!”
-Maria N., Sophomore
“You get to be as loud and as obnoxious as you want while in the student section… I don’t think I’ve ever had more fun singing the alma mater than when I’m rocking back and forth with my friends”
-Colter C., Junior
“It’s the only place that I’ve rationalized, on multiple occasions, spending $4 on a bottle of water”
– Katie H., Freshman
There is so much that your student can do to make the most out of their freshman and even college experience and I believe, without a hint of doubt, that going to football games and calling the hogs in the student section is the best way to do that. Your student will be here for, what feels like to them, a small yet jam packed portion of their life and this is the time where memories, friends, and relationship are made, so encourage them to get out there, call those hogs, and watch as Austin Allen wins the Heisman.
