The University of Arkansas provides transit for its students all around the Fayetteville area.  There are nine regular routes that run from 7 AM – 6 PM Monday through Friday.  There are 7 reduced routes that begin running at 6 PM and run until 10:30 PM Monday through Friday.  The reduced routes also run on Saturdays.  To see a better explanation of the reduced and regular routes and their hours of operation, please go to http://parking.uark.edu/transit-services/transit-operations/maps-and-schedules.php  and click on the route that you want to know about.

If your student has a Remote parking pass, there is a bus route that picks up the students in the Remote lots and takes them to campus.  This route is called the Remote Express.  The route is found at http://parking.uark.edu/_resources/documents/48-REMOTEEXPRESS.pdf for more information.  The Green route stays on campus.  A lot of students who have the Student parking pass park in Lot 56 or along Razorback Road and use this route in order to get closer to their classes.  The specific route for the Green bus is located at http://parking.uark.edu/_resources/documents/11-GREEN.pdf.  This route is helpful to students who live on campus because it stops by the residence halls to pick up.  This will come in handy when it starts getting cold outside because a lot of people don’t want to walk in the cold weather.  Route 13 is a popular route for students living in off campus apartments.  This route goes on Dickson Street and stops at different locations that make it easy for students to get to.  It also tops along Hill Avenue for students who live in apartments there.  Students in Lot 56 may take this route depending on what class they are trying to get to.  Route 13 stops at Harmon Garage which is a popular area for many students.  You can find information on Route 13 at http://parking.uark.edu/_resources/documents/13-ROUTE-13.pdf.

The Red route goes to the Northwest Arkansas Mall and Uptown Campus.  This route also stops at Walmart if your student needs to go to any of these places.  The route can be found at http://parking.uark.edu/_resources/documents/26-RED.pdf.  The Red route is convenient for students who don’t have a car but need to go to the mall or to a Walmart Supercenter.  This route has many other stops along the way including apartments in Uptown Fayetteville and apartments along Leverett and Garland.

There are many other routes that go all throughout the Fayetteville area.  The transit website keeps a live map and schedule updated at all times, and you can find it here: http://parking.uark.edu/transit-services/transit-operations/maps-and-schedules.php. If your student is on campus and can’t walk to their car or to where they live, there is a bus that can get them close, if not all the way to it.  The University of Arkansas is very unique because they provide transportation closer to our classes.  I am thankful that our university cares enough to assist students in getting to their classes.
