Safety on campus is a huge issue for everyone. No parent would want to send their student to a campus that is unsafe. The University of Arkansas provides several resources to ensure that you and your student feel safe and welcome on campus. Here are a few resources you should review with your student:

University of Arkansas Police Department (UAPD) – UAPD is located on campus for easy accessibility for the students. Their phone number is conveniently located on the back of your student’s ID card.

  • Blue Emergency Poles – In case of an emergency on campus, there are big blue poles labeled “EMERGENCY” all throughout campus. If your student presses the button on the pole, a UAPD officer will arrive on site shortly.

  • Safe Ride – Safe ride is a service offered by the University of Arkansas that extends its reach beyond campus to ensure students, and their parents, feel safe in Fayetteville. If called, Safe Ride will pick your student up anywhere. The number to Safe Ride is also located on the back on your student’s ID.

  • RazAlert – RazAlert is an automated phone/email service that alerts your student of anything out of the ordinary that is happening on campus like bad weather, campus closings, and safety concerns. Your student can set their notification preferences on their UAConnect.

Safety is among the top priorities of the University of Arkansas. You can guarantee that the University of Arkansas will do everything they can to ensure the safety of your student.
