The University of Arkansas is a fantastic school with so many opportunities, where all students can join something fun and unique that they find interesting, but there is one thing all students share: studying. With big tests, complicated homework, and the often stressful finals week, students are always in search of a favorite place to study, where they can still enjoy their time and relax. I polled my Instagram followers about their favorite places to study on and off campus, from coffee shops to quiet, secluded spots on campus, it is important for every student to find their place where they can work hard.

Favorite off-campus locations:

For me, I really enjoy getting off campus to complete homework and study. Relaxing at a coffee shop is the perfect place for me to focus and get work done. My personal favorite place to study is at Bolder Coffee! Bolder is close to campus, has the best coffee, and provides me with the best study environment. Below are some other favorites from students!

Basecamp Coffee Company

Puritan Coffee

Fayetteville Public Library (there’s even an Arsaga’s coffee inside!)

Bolder Coffee (my personal favorite!)

Starbuck’s on MLK (this location has huge tables with outlets in them, perfect for studying alone or with big groups!)

Onyx Coffee Lab

Panera

Favorite on-campus locations:

Sometimes you need to stay up late to study for big tests, or maybe you just don’t want to go off campus, luckily there are some great places to study on campus. My personal favorites are the Gearhart Honors Lounge for their comfy couches and incredibly quiet space, and Bell Engineering because there’s always other students to talk to and work with. Below are other favorite spots on campus from students!

Hillside Auditorium

Arsaga’s in the Law Library

Bell Engineering (each department has their own lounge!)

Gearhart Honors Lounge

Mullins Library (especially popular during finals week when they are open 24/7!)

Greek Theatre (a big favorite when in need of some outdoor time and relaxing place to study!)

Architecture Building (there’s an outdoor study space with a beautiful view of Fayetteville on the top floor!)

The Union (private study rooms available for rent!)

Starbuck’s on campus

Additionally, every residence hall, and many off-campus apartments, offer study spaces for their students which of course are convenient spaces to work and meet others in your residence hall! It’s important that your student discover what they are looking for in the perfect study space-a quiet and bright area, a loud and busy location, or convenient and secluded space? Figuring out their preferences in a study space will help them accomplish their goals. Here are few questions your student can ask themselves when searching for the perfect study space:

What will you be distracted by here, and can you find somewhere without those distractions?

Is there somewhere to charge your laptop and phone, if necessary?

Are you able to sit back and allow yourself a study break here?

There are many great places on campus and in Fayetteville, students should explore and find out what’s best for them!
