Everyone meet Courtney Mentesana! Courtney is a Senior Kinesiology Pre-Physician’s Assistant major from Allen, TX. She loves working with New Student and Family Programs as a Parent and Family Ambassador and is also involved in a Greek Life Organization as well as the Volunteer Action Center.
The University of Arkansas loves our Alumni! In order to show our appreciation and welcome them home to the U of A we have a large amount of fun activities for you to enjoy along with some Razorback Football, of course! This year homecoming will take place October 28, 2018 – November 4, 2018 and is themed “All Roads Lead Home to The Hill,” so mark your calendars and plan to join us for a fun weekend full of UARK traditions! The University of Arkansas Alumni Association has planned lots of events for you and your family to attend. To begin the week there will be a fall festival and horror picture show for students to enjoy. Throughout the week there are great activities around campus including capture the flag, banner decorating, and a canned food drive! Towards the end of the week (when you can join your student, woohoo!), there will be a step show, a parade ending in a pep rally, and a tailgate before the football game! While you are in town, do not forget to take a tour around campus and look at the pomping displays put together by different student organizations around campus! For those of you who are clueless as to what pomping is, as I was, students work together to make massive displays out of tissue paper to fit the year’s homecoming theme. It is a huge Arkansas tradition and student’s have a blast partaking in the displays and banner making to decorate our home on the hill. The Hog Wild Tailgate before the game is the biggest tailgate all year, and let me tell you, we do not mess around! You will definitely want to load up on your hog gear, jerseys, hog hats and noses, and razorback-themed EVERYTHING to show some serious hog pride! You will have the opportunity to visit your student and their friends, enjoy some Fayetteville hot spots, and partake in all of the fun campus-wide activities. It is definitely a good time and an unforgettable experience so start pinning your tailgate recipes, shopping for some hog gear, and get ready to cheer on our razorbacks. We look forwardsto seeing you on The Hill and as always, GO HOGS!!!
