Meet Leah Herring. Leah is a freshman social work major with a minor in Spanish from Prairie Village, Kansas. Leah is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and is involved with the Honors College. She loves the outdoors and spends most weekends camping or studying in a hammock somewhere around Fayetteville.
There are countless things to be thankful for in my life. One of my greatest blessings is being a Razorback. There are so many things that make me feel proud to be a Razorback at the University of Arkansas. Here are just a few:
Fayetteville is rated as one of the best places to live in America year after year. Campus and the surrounding town are filled to the brim with friendly people that you can often find at Fayetteville’s numerous parks and local coffee shops.
Along with most Razorbacks, I am very thankful for all of our sports teams. Whether it be a gymnastics meet, tennis match, or Razorback football game, there is just something about sitting in the stands and calling the Hogs that makes me thankful to be a Razorback.
The relationships I formed with the faculty and staff at the University of Arkansas is just one of the things I became most grateful for during my freshman year. Without the support of my Resident Assistants, professors, librarians, TAs, and many more I would not have made it through the year.
I am thankful I attend a university that cares about its students’ well-being and success by providing the best opportunities and resources available to its students. The friendly faces and beautiful scenery are just one aspect that make the University of Arkansas a great place. I love walking around campus and reading the names in Senior Walk, because it reflects the heritage and history of our university. We are a school full of old traditions, but we are also constantly changing. The last thing I am thankful for (but most definitely not least) is the on-campus Chick-Fil-A. Seriously. It rocks.
