A common concern parents might have for their students is wondering exactly how accessible the necessities are on campus. Thankfully, at the U of A, the stores on campus take into account a wide variety of student needs. If your student is looking for a quick snack or a convenient place to shop for necessities, Club Red is a perfect place to start. Club Red is famously known on campus as a nice gas station without the gas. Club Red will have things like snacks, drinks, pencils, pens, sometimes scantrons, and even basic over the counter medication. If you are worried about your student not having enough extra cash to shop in Club Red, most of the items in Club Red can be bought with flex dollars. As mentioned previously, there are three Club Red locations on campus and all are conveniently located. The one I visit most often is below Brough Commons, simply because that’s what area I am around the most. There is also one located in the Arkansas Union, and near the Quads on the north side of campus.

While Club Red is nice and serves more as a convenience store, there are somethings you can’t get there that you might need: This is where “Small Mart” can help. Small Mart is a Wal-Mart located on the north side of campus below Garland Parking garage. What separates Small Mart from Club Red is the municipality. Should they need it, your student can get everything from a coke to a flashlight in Small Mart, should I need it. Another awesome thing about Small Mart is they have a pharmacy located inside of the store where students can get their prescriptions called in. I got sick this fall, and I had my prescription called in to Small Mart, and was able to swing by and quickly pick up my medicine. Not to mention, the pharmaceutical staff was extremely helpful and made my illness much more stress free. Being a college student can be stressful, and when you put being sick on top of that, it can be overwhelming. The Small Mart pharmacy helped me get back out there and feeling better in no time! Utilizing Club Red and “Small” Mart can make your students life a lot easier!
